WC 2010: Group C

The national football teams of  England, USA, Algeria and Slovenia have been drawn to Group C.

Capellos 3 Lions Team will play the opener of Group C against the US-Team in Rustenburg and will face besides Slovenia the strongest competitor of the group. Algeria seems to be the weakest team with nearly no chance to qualify for round of last 16. It seems the USA and Slovenia are playing for the 2nd place to qualify for the knock-out-stage.

Initial Situation and chances:

  •  England, already celebrating the easiest ever group in WC history, will be a clear favourite for 1st place in group. Qualification of the English team has been very strong!
  • US-Team mostly makes it to knock-out stage in WC history. Depending on key-players performance they will have a good chance to go on in Group C
  • Slovenia playing their 2nd World Cup in history have become a compact and good European football team with many players in European top-teams. Chances to qualify are 50:50.
  • Algeria are not anymore amongst the strongest teams in Africa. Chances to qualify seem to be only marginal.
