On the 17th of March 2006 the FIFA announced the 9 host cities for the football World Cup 2010: Johannesburg, Cape Town, Durban, Mangaung / Bloemfontein, Nelson Mandela Bay/Port Elizabeth, Nelspruit, Polokwane, Rustenburg and Tshwane/Pretoria (capital).
