Werder Bremen is back on the way to qualify for next year European Cup. After a series of four defeats the side of coach Thomas Schaaf gained ten points out of twelve possible. Therefore the distance to Borussia Dortmund, who fills the fifth place, makes up only one point.

With seven matches unbeaten, the deuce of new coach Christian Gross was tremendous. During last the weeks the highlight was a 1:1-draw against Champions League winner FC Barcelona. Furthermore the impressive form of striker Cacau: the German international scored six times in the last two games.
